THE ESTATE
A hidden luxury estate in Ubud, Bali — the private alternative to the five-star hotel.
In the jungle valley where the Wos River winds below and the Campuhan Ridge rises beyond the treeline, Rumah Hujan exists at a deliberate remove from the world. No lobby. No itinerary. No other guests — unless you choose them yourself.
Two private luxury villas — Rumah Hujan I and Rumah Hujan II — offer six bedrooms and two private heated saltwater pools across 2,400 square metres of jungle estate in the heart of Ubud, Bali. A private chef, a dedicated spa nestled within the gardens, a yoga space, and a full-size bamboo badminton pavilion designed by Ibuku — the studio behind Bali’s iconic Green School — are shared across the estate. A fully staffed retreat, run to the standard of the finest private properties in Bali, without a single compromise on privacy.
Book one villa for an intimate Ubud retreat with access to everything. Or take the estate in its entirety — a completely hidden, completely private world sleeping up to twelve, exclusively yours.
For those who travel with discretion — this is where to stay in Bali.
The House of Rain
At the edge of the Wos River valley, facing the Campuhan Ridge, Rumah Hujan I stands in quiet conversation with its landscape.
Volcanic stone and reclaimed timber. Three double bedrooms. A heated saltwater infinity pool that opens over the jungle canopy below. An open-plan living and dining area where the boundary between inside and outside is, by design, difficult to locate. The master bedroom is almost entirely glass — an intentional choice by architect Maximilian Jencquel of Studio Jencquel, so that the jungle becomes the room.
The materials have history. The stone has weight. The reclaimed wood remembers other lives. Together they create a private villa that feels settled and permanent — as though it did not arrive in this landscape so much as emerge from it.
Three bedrooms. Private heated saltwater pool. Sleeps six.
The House of Twilight
A bridge. Then a reclaimed Javanese Joglo — one of the most architecturally distinctive private villas in Ubud, Bali — its timber roof rising nearly thirty feet above a central atrium open to jungle light and air.
The villa moves across two houses. The main house holds two double bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing uninterrupted Bali jungle in every direction. The bridge leads to Sebun Kedis — The Bird’s Nest — entirely self-contained within the villa: its own entrance, kitchenette, bathroom, and terrace above the treeline. Each house has its own terrace. Its own outlook. Its own hour of the day when it is at its best.
Between them, a heated private saltwater pool catches whatever light remains.
Sebun Kedis can be closed off entirely from the main house — offering privacy within privacy, for those who require it. Ideal for travelling with staff, a relative, or anyone you love but needn’t share a wall with.
Three bedrooms. Private heated saltwater pool. Sleeps six.
