The private kitchen at Rumah Hujan is an extension of the house. Not a restaurant, not a catering service — a private kitchen that cooks the way a thoughtful host cooks. Slowly, seasonally, and with genuine care for what lands on the table.

Meals are served privately within your villa, at whatever hour suits you. The menu changes with the markets, the seasons, and what arrives fresh from the coast or the farm that day. Dishes are placed at the centre of the table and shared — the way food is meant to be eaten.

BREAKFAST

A gentle start

Each morning, breakfast arrives between 7:30 and 10:00 — freshly pressed juice, seasonal tropical fruit, a basket of homemade breads with local fruit spreads and honey, Balinese granola, and a choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or matcha latte. A selection of hot dishes is available alongside — from Balinese black rice pudding simmered in coconut milk and palm sugar, to farm eggs cooked to order with your choice of greens.

For early risers, a fruit platter and juice can be placed in the fridge the evening before.

LUNCH & DINNER

Private dining, in-villa

Lunch and dinner are available as a private in-villa cooking service — prepared fresh in your kitchen, served at your table, at your pace. The menu spans handmade pasta from the kitchen — perhaps pumpkin ravioli with sage butter, or pillowy gnocchi in a bright tomato and basil sauce — alongside fresh fish arriving directly from the coast, traditional Indonesian dishes rooted in Balinese and Javanese flavour, and slow-cooked comfort food that draws on kitchens from across the world.

Our organic free-range chicken comes from Wanaprasta — a Balinese farm where the birds roam freely through the forest. A difference you can taste in every dish.

Dietary requirements, food intolerances, and personal preferences are always accommodated. Simply let us know the day before, and the kitchen will take care of the rest
